At 40, Fast and Furious star actor, Paul Walker dies in car crash


Actor Paul Walker, best known for his role in the Hollywood film franchise Fast and Furious, has been killed in a car crash.
The smash took place in Santa Clarita, just north of Los Angeles while he was on his way to a charity event.
Walker was a passenger in a Porsche that lost control and hit either a lamp post or tree before bursting
into flames.
News of the fatal crash was first reported by US website TMZ.
The actor's death was later confirmed on his Facebook page.
A statement on the page read: "It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide.
"He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives.
"We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news.
"Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time.

Actor Paul Walker, who shot to fame as star of the high-octane street racing franchise "Fast & Furious," died Saturday in a car crash in Southern California. He was 40.

Walker's publicist Ame van Iden confirmed his death, but said she could not elaborate beyond statements posted on Walker's official Twitter and Facebook accounts.

According to the message on his fan page, "it says It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences"

 The star of "The Fast and the Furious" movie franchise and another person died in Southern California after the Porsche they were in crashed, his rep confirmed to the Daily News. Walker was attending a charity event in Santa Clarita, about 30 miles north of Los Angeles.

Actor Paul Walker — a self-styled adrenaline junkie best known for his role in “The Fast and the Furious” movies — was killed Saturday in a fiery single-car wreck in Southern California.
The 40-year-old Walker was riding in a Porsche GT about 3:30 p.m. when the driver lost control and slammed into a post or a tree in Santa Clarita, TMZ.com reported.

Moments later, the car burst into flames.

Walker was in Santa Clarita, about 30 miles north of Los Angeles, for a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide.

One witness said he tried to put the fire out and recognized Walker’s body inside, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Signal.
Another spectator at the crash site said Walker had been taking a “joyride” with a close friend.
A Porsche GT like the one Paul Walker was riding in California when he died Saturday, according to TMZ.

“Him and his buddy, his brother in arms at heart just decided to joyride, take a spin. Something we all do. We’re all car enthusiasts,” said Antonio Holmes, who said he was a friend of Walker’s.
